UPPER LAKE >> It took the Cloverdale Eagles some time to get there, but they finally broke into the win column in North Central League I play, beating the Cloverdale Eagles 4-2 in varsity baseball action Tuesday afternoon in Upper Lake.

Cloverdale (1-9 league, 5-11 overall) hadn’t won a game since a March 18 non-league contest against Piner.

“A nice, briskly played game by both teams,” Upper Lake head coach Don Meri said.

Upper Lake honored its seven seniors – Tyler Collins, Jimmy Sanchez, George Rahmer, Landen Robinson, Mikel Compton, Taelor Stipp and Jacob McKelvyy – during its final home game.

Collins pitched 6 1/3 innings and took the loss, striking out seven and walking one. He also went 2-for-4. Compton went 2-for-3 while Rahmer and Robinson also had hits.

Upper Lake (1-12, 2-16-1) closes out its season Friday in Cloverdale at 4 p.m.
