Trojans’ season ends with 2-0 playoff loss

Lower Lake shut out by top-seeded The Bay School in Division 2 quarterfinals

SAN FRANCISCO >> Lower Lake High School’s boys soccer season came to an end Saturday evening as the eighth-seeded Trojans fell 2-0 to No. 1 The Bay School in the North Coast Section Division 2 playoffs in San Francisco.

Lower Lake (13-4-3) won a share of the North Central League I title this season, its second league championship in three years, and also scored a 2-1 first-round playoff victory over Redwood Christian before falling to the top-seeded Breakers (9-4-6).

The Bay School advances to the semifinals on Wednesday against No. 5 seed Fort Bragg (17-5-3). Fort Bragg defeated No. 4 Tomales 3-2 on Saturday in Tomales. Fort Bragg tied Lower Lake and Kelseyville for the NCL I title this season.

Fort Bragg is the last of three NCL I teams still alive in the Division 2 tournament. Kelseyville dropped a 3-2 overtime decision to No. 2 seed Oakland Military Institute on Friday in Alameda.
