Cougars close out 2025 campaign with home win over Cloverdale Chargers

UPPER LAKE >> The Northshore Cougars won a wild shootout with Cloverdale in the junior varsity division of the Mendo-Lake Empire Junior Football League on Saturday in Upper Lake, beating the visiting Chargers 33-27.
It was the season finale for both teams. Northshore closes out the season at 3-7 and Cloverdale 0-9-1.
Boehm finished with 200 yards rushing and four touchdowns to power the Northshore offense. He also had five tackles on defense. Zaiden Suzor rushed for another touchdown and extra point as well as adding six tackles on defense.
The game seesawed back and forth until Ajay Valerio picked up a first down on a broken play late in the fourth quarter, which allowed the Cougars to run out the clock.
Adrian Daguro-Mendoza anchored the Northshore defense with nine tackles. He also scored an extra point. Kayden Arney finished with seven tackles while Jacob Thomsen had six tackles, two of them coming behind the line of scrimmage.
The Cougars won despite missing three starters out because of illness and injury.
