“We are looking well balanced on both sides of the ball,” Lower Lake head coach Daniel Hooten said. “On offense we got five kids into the end zone. That always feels good as a coach. We have many weapons.”

Steffen finished with 91 rushing yards on five carries and 51 passing yards. Hooten led the team with 93 yards on the ground on five carries. James had two catches for 51 yards.

On defense, Steffen had an interception and a sack. Wilkins had two solo tackles, including a sack. Draco Benefield, Camari Onwuasoeze and Damion Menjivar led the team with three solo tackles apiece.

“We had nine different kids get solo tackles,” Hooten said. “There’s nowhere to go.”

Sonoma slipped to 2-6 with the loss.

The Trojans return to action next Saturday against Northshore (0-8) in Upper Lake at 3:30 p.m.
