Kelseyville wins second straight game after 0-3 start, hosts Cloverdale next

KELSEYVILLE >> The Kelseyville Chiefs won their second straight game, shutting out the Northshore Cougars 35-0 during Mendo-Lake Empire Junior Football League pee wee action Saturday in Kelseyville.

Austin Aiken led the way with 129 rushing yards on 10 carries, scoring two touchdowns and two conversions. Other touchdowns went to Andrew Denham, who rushed for 41 yards and also had a conversion; to Bryce Fontana, who caught two passes for 40 yards, one of them a touchdown thrown by Eagle Feather Pasalo; and to Jace McCloud, who rushed for a 6-yard score.

Ryker Vanderwall and Josiah Wilson both scored on conversions for the Chiefs.

Responsible for keeping Northshore (0-5) scoreless were Kelseyville defenders Aiken with five tackles, two fumble recoveries and a sack, McCloud with a forced fumble, and Denham and Wilson, both with two solo tackles. Wilson also had two assists.

Kelseyville remains home next Saturday to play Cloverdale (1-3-1) at 3:30 p.m.
