CLOVERDALE >> Kimo Brown went 4-for-4 with two doubles and scored three times while winning pitcher Reese Johnson worked four scoreless innings in Kelseyville’s 9-1 junior varsity baseball victory over the Cloverdale Eagles on Tuesday in Cloverdale.

Ethan Wheeler went 3-for-4 with two doubles and scored three times while Case Pivniska went 2-for-4 with a double as the Knights improved to 4-0 in league play and 6-1 overall.

“I was proud of my guys on how they kept fighting throughout the game,” Kelseyville head coach Sean Navarro said. “We hit a lot of balls directly to outfielders. Sometimes that’s how a game may go, but I think with us playing good defense and how we kept fighting to score runs was the difference.”

Added Navarro, “Cloverdale had some really great defensive plays against us. They played very tough and continued fighting.”

Deake Lyndall relieved Johnson and pitched the final three innings.

“Deake Lyndall pitched a great game in relief,” Navarro said.

Kelseyville plays Friday in Fort Bragg at 4 p.m.
