KELSEYVILLE >> Reese Johnson struck out 10 during a five-inning complete-game 10-0 win over Fortuna in non-league junior varsity baseball action Saturday against the Fortuna Huskies in Kelseyville.
Johnson improved to 2-0 as did the Knights. He worked four innings and struck out eight in the team’s season-opening 7-2 win over Colusa on Tuesday.
Kelseyville had a 4-0 lead before blowing the game wide open with a six-run bottom of the fifth, at which point the game was called because of the 10-run mercy rule.
“We were very aggressive in our baserunning and were able to capitalize on some defensive errors to win the game,” Kelseyville head coach Sean Navarro said.
Elijah Watkins doubled for the Knights and scored twice. Makimo Brown, Jorge Gonzalez and Andrew Souza also scored twice.
Kelseyville hosts Woodland Christian next Saturday at 11 a.m.
