LAKEPORT >> Mikaela Rico knocked in a pass from Hope Luevano late in the second half as the Kelseyville High School girls soccer team tied the St. Helena Saints 1-1 during North Central League I soccer action Tuesday at Clear Lake High School in Lakeport.

Kelseyville (1-1-3 league, 5-6-3 overall) fell behind 1-0 on a goal late in the first half.

“We had some good shots at goal and some free kicks, sending the ball up, but were not able to get the ball into the net,” Kelseyville head coach Irma Rodriguez said.

Kelseyville keeper Cassie Rodriguez turned away some hard shots, according to Rodriguez.

“The lady Knights played a good game,” Rodriguez said. “I am really proud of how they are playing.”

Kelseyville also tied St. Helena, 0-0, in their first league meeting Jan. 9 in St. Helena.

The Knights return to action Tuesday against Roseland University Prep at Clear Lake High School in Lakeport. Game time is 5:30 p.m.
