LAKEPORT >> Jacky Chavez and Kylee Denham scored goals for Kelseyville during a 2-2 tie with Roslenad University Prep during North Central League I girls soccer action Saturday at Clear Lake High School in Lakeport.
RUP took a 1-0 lead in the first half before Chavez tied it up. Denham’s goal put the Knights (1-1-1 league, 5-6-2 overall) ahead in the second half, but RUP (1-1-2, 5-1-3) came back to tie it.
“Both teams fought hard and went full force the last 15 minutes of the game,” Kelseyville head coach Irma Rodriguez said. “Neither team gave up and the game ended in a tie.”
Added Rodrigurez, “We were really proud of their performance. We need to keep up the faith, spirit and energy out on the field and work on the errors that we make.”
Kelseyville plays St. Helena on Tuesday at Clear Lake High School in Lakeport. Game time is 5:30 p.m.
