Mustangs knock off Willits Wolverines in league home match

MIDDLETOWN >> Seth Watson scored twice and Bryan Sanchez added a goal and an assist Tuesday as the Middletown Mustangs edged the Willits Wolverines 3-2 in North Central League I boys soccer action in Middletown.
Willits played a man down after one of its players received two yellow cards for hard tackles on Middletown’s Sanchez.
The two teams were tied 1-1 at halftime.
Sanchez assisted on one of Watson’s goals while Alexander Gonzalez assisted on the Sanchez goal.
“My guys played well, a few things we need to work on but I’m happy with their improvement,” Middletown head coach Jason Cadelario said. “There were a lot of great plays and communication as well as awesome finishers.”
Middletown improved to 4-1-1 in the league standings.
The Mustangs host Clear Lake on Thursday beginning at 4:45 p.m. on the Minnie Canyon Field.
