Thomas, Brown score touchdowns for Knights in league road game

UPPER LAKE >> Running back Brayton Thomas rushed for 77 yards and a touchdown while quarterback Kimo Brown scored on a 1-yard keeper to lift the Kelseyville High School junior varsity football team to a 14-7 win over the Upper Lake Cougars on Friday evening in Upper Lake
The Knights improved to 3-1 in the North Central League I standings and 4-2 overall. Upper Lake is 3-2 and 5-2.
Kelseyville built a 14-0 lead before Upper Lake scored late in the fourth quarter. The Knights gained 200 yards on the ground led by Thomas, Jayden Fabisch (10 carries for 51 yards) and Case Pivniska (six carries for 37 yards). Fabisch also had a 29-yard reception.
George Gonzalez kicked both of Kelseyville’s extra points.
The Knights were led on defense by Deake Lyndall with four solo stops and six assists, and Pivniska, Gonzalez, Weech Pasalo, Angel Ruiz, Josh Devries and Gordon Astrup with four tackles apiece. Astrup also had a sack.
