ROHNERT PARK >> The Kelseyville High School boys volleyball team ran into a buzz saw Thursday night, falling 25-15, 25-17, 25-22 to the Technology Titans in a North Central League I match in Rohnert Park.
It was the first loss of the season for the two-time defending NCL I champions, now 2-1 in league play and 3-1 overall.
“Technology is the clear favorite in our league this year based off their experience, and they looked the part,” Kelseyville head coach Kc White said. “We were a little shellshocked at the beginning, but I’m proud of my guys for not giving up. This is the first team we have played this year that has it all, and it took us a set or so to get used to that.”
Added White, “Once we got comfortable with Technology’s pace on their hitting, we were able to start playing better, and it showed in the scores. Our block was much more cohesive today as we got a lot of touches on balls. Now we need to work on what we do when we do get touches on blocks.”
Andon Beall had three kills, three digs, two blocks and one ace for the Knights. He also was 12-for-12 in serve receive. George Cline added eight digs and one ace. He was 16-for-20 in serve receive.
Kelseyville makes a third trip to Rohnert Park this week when it travels to the Rancho Cotate Tournament on Saturday.
“We are going to play some really good teams and hopefully learn a lot from the additional time on the court,” White said.
