{"id":959,"date":"2024-09-26T04:16:05","date_gmt":"2024-09-26T04:16:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/briansumptersports.com\/?p=959"},"modified":"2024-09-26T04:16:05","modified_gmt":"2024-09-26T04:16:05","slug":"knights-roll-past-cardinals-improve-to-5-0","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/briansumptersports.com\/?p=959","title":{"rendered":"Knights roll past Cardinals, improve to 5-0"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Patti, Krohn, Mateer power Kelseyville up front in sweep of Clear Lake<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lake County Sports on Facebook<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>KELSEYVILLE &gt;&gt; The Kelseyville Knights wasted no time in making quick work of the Clear Lake Cardinals during their North Central League I varsity volleyball match on Tuesday night in Kelseyville, rolling to a 25-9, 25-15, 25-12 victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kelseyville improved to a league-best 5-0 while tuning up for its first-place showdown Thursday night in Cloverdale against the Eagles (5-1), fresh off a four-set victory Tuesday night in Fort Bragg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Knights dominated at the net behind seven kills from Nyejzniya Krohn (on 16 attempts, no errors) and five kills apiece from Bella Patti (on 10 attempts, no errors) and Matisyn Mateer, who also had two blocks and a team-best five aces. Kelseyville also received solid play from Ashlyn Klein (11 assists) and Cali Schnabl (10 digs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cShoutout to coach Izzy (Clear Lake coach Izzy Short) who is coaching both JV and varsity,\u201d Kelseyville head coach Donelle McCallister said. \u201cShe is putting her heart into the Clear Lake High School volleyball program.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Clear Lake opened league play 2-0 but has since dropped three in a row. No Clear Lake statistics were reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kelseyville\u2019s junior varsity squad also moved to 5-0 in league play with a 25-15, 25-21 win over Clear Lake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAll of our athletes stepped up to fill holes on our team,\u201d McCallister said. \u201cThey worked well and played consistently all night. Shoutout to our returning players Liberty Lewis, Grace Hobbs, Josie Keithly and Morgan Rogers.
