{"id":7219,"date":"2026-09-22T17:54:34","date_gmt":"2026-09-22T17:54:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/briansumptersports.com\/?p=7219"},"modified":"2026-09-22T17:55:15","modified_gmt":"2026-09-22T17:55:15","slug":"mountain-vista-wins-a-match-in-three-sets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/briansumptersports.com\/?p=7219","title":{"rendered":"Mountain Vista wins &#8216;A&#8217; match in three sets"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Middle schools battle it out on volleyball court during league competition<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lake County Sports on Facebook<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MIDDLETOWN &gt;&gt; Mountain Vista Middle School won the A match while Middletown Middle School captured the B match Monday during volleyball action at Middletown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mountain Vista A beat Middletown A 25-15, 19-25, 15-12, handing the Broncos (1-1) their first league loss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMountain Vista is a great team, and we tried our best to stay with them,\u201d Middletown head coach Niki Emberson said. \u201cOur team was down three players tonight, so we had to get creative. I pulled up a seventh-grade B player to have a cushion as two of our eight players were out last week with injuries. Our girls came together, had great attitudes and played some solid volleyball, and I can\u2019t wait for the next time we play Mountain Vista.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lily Day collected four kills and served up an ace to power Middletown. Other leaders were Stella Brand with seven digs, three kills, two assists and an ace, and Remmi Harbison with six digs, five assists and an ace. Aleah Kilstrom had two aces and a kill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe had some great, long rallies,\u201d Emberson said. \u201cThere was awesome volleyball on both sides of the net.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Middletown\u2019s B team won 25-18, 18-25, 15-8 behind nine aces and two kills from Aleah Kilstrom, seven aces from Madison Lewis, and nine service points and two aces from Grace Hawkins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe had some solid serving tonight and some pretty good rallies,\u201d Emberson said. \u201cOur team struggled with serve receive but was able to push through.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Teegan McLeod served the final two points in the third set, both aces, to secure Middletown\u2019s victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mountain Vista statistics weren\u2019t reported for either match.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Middletown is on the road Wednesday to play Upper Lake.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Middle schools battle it out on volleyball court during league competition Lake County Sports on Facebook MIDDLETOWN &gt;&gt; Mountain Vista Middle School won the A match while Middletown Middle School captured the B match Monday during volleyball action at Middletown.
