{"id":7183,"date":"2026-09-19T17:33:17","date_gmt":"2026-09-19T17:33:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/briansumptersports.com\/?p=7183"},"modified":"2026-09-19T17:33:17","modified_gmt":"2026-09-19T17:33:17","slug":"percoats-shields-spark-trojans-in-46-14-win","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/briansumptersports.com\/?p=7183","title":{"rendered":"Percoats, Shields spark Trojans in 46-14 win"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Lower Lake builds 30-8 halftime lead while recording first victory of 2026 season<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lake County Sports on Facebook<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>FORT BRAGG &gt;&gt; There\u2019s a such thing as announcing yourself with authority and that\u2019s exactly what Lower Lake High School sophomore running back Roy Percoats did Friday night on the first play from scrimmage against the Fort Bragg Timberwolves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Percoats ran 48 yards for a touchdown, one of his three rushing scores on the night, as the Trojans &nbsp;built a 30-8 halftime lead in a 46-14 North Central League I varsity football interlock win at Timberwolf Stadium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHe continued to perform at a high level, scoring on his fourth carry with a 61-yard touchdown,\u201d Lower Lake head coach Jay Jakubowski said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In all, Percoats carried the ball 16 times for 191 yards. He also ran for a two-point conversion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lower Lake\u2019s passing game also hurt Fort Bragg as quarterback Brody Shields completed 13 of 18 passes for 245 yards and three touchdowns, one each to Raijhier McKneely (five catches for 132 yards), Jordan Rohrbacker (five catches for 65 yards) and Vincent Linton (three catches for 51 yards. McKneely\u2019s touchdown catch-and-run covered 76 yards and Linton\u2019s 48 yards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Linton also had 94 yards rushing with a touchdown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lower Lake\u2019s defense also came up big during the game, according to Jakubowski.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe defense was physical in the run game, with Anthony Ruiz, Anthony Russell and Ismael Orozco effective in creating pressure in the backfield,\u201d Jakubowski said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Abraham Mora also intercepted a pass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Trojans (1-1) snapped a five-game losing streak to the Timberwolves (1-3) in impressive fashion, rolling into the fourth quarter with a 38-14 lead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThey played hard on both sides of the ball,\u201d Jakubowski said. \u201cAside from some mistakes and late penalties, it was a very exciting game with several players making significant contributions.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lower Lake returns home next Friday to play Willits (1-3).
