{"id":7138,"date":"2026-09-15T22:04:56","date_gmt":"2026-09-15T22:04:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/briansumptersports.com\/?p=7138"},"modified":"2026-09-15T22:04:56","modified_gmt":"2026-09-15T22:04:56","slug":"pee-wee-colts-run-past-kelseyville-34-0","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/briansumptersports.com\/?p=7138","title":{"rendered":"Pee wee Colts run past Kelseyville, 34-0"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Tucker rushes for pair of touchdowns, returns fumble for third score<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lake County Sports on Facebook<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MIDDLETOWN &gt;&gt; The Middletown Colts ran for four touchdowns and returned a fumble for another while beating the Kelseyville Chiefs 34-0 in a Mendo-Lake Empire Youth Football League pee wee game on Saturday at Bill Foltmer Field in Middletown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Middletown\u2019s defense held Kelseyville (0-3) no negative yardage until the mercy rule went into effect midway through the third quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Elijah Tucker accounted for three of the Colts\u2019 touchdowns, rushing for 61 yards and two scores and returning a fumble 22 yards for a TD. He also had one of the team\u2019s two interceptions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eli Hartley rushed for 54 yards while Danny Yell and Colton Smith had rushing touchdowns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis was a great bounceback win for us,\u201d Middletown head coach Cody Smith said. \u201cThe kids need it. After not getting into the end zone the first two games of the year even though we moved the ball pretty good in both games, it was great to see us open the game up with a 70-yard drive and get that off our back.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Middletown (2-1) took a 20-0 lead into halftime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hartley led the team with three total tackles while Yell had two. Hunter Lauwers had an interception.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m proud of the way the kids showed up this week to practice and put the tough loss (to Lower Lake) behind them.
