{"id":7073,"date":"2026-09-10T16:26:52","date_gmt":"2026-09-10T16:26:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/briansumptersports.com\/?p=7073"},"modified":"2026-09-10T16:26:52","modified_gmt":"2026-09-10T16:26:52","slug":"cougars-sweep-laytonville-in-volleyball","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/briansumptersports.com\/?p=7073","title":{"rendered":"Cougars sweep Laytonville in volleyball"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Varsity, junior varsity clubs both notch non-league road victories<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lake County Sports on Facebook<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>LAYTONVILLE &gt;&gt; Upper Lake High School\u2019s varsity volleyball team bounced back into the win column Wednesday with a 25-11, 25-19, 14-25, 25-14 non-league win at Laytonville, overcoming 21 serving errors in the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFor a team that has been pretty good from the service line, tonight was not so good,\u201d Upper Lake head coach Fawn Rave said. \u201cA majority of that (21 missed serves) came in the third set.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Added Rave of her team\u2019s overall play, \u201cWe had some pretty good rallies and overall, I\u2019m really proud of them all.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alyssa John finished with a team-best 14 kills and four blocks to go along with two aces, two assists and two digs. Rilee Sperber recorded 14 assists while Jordyn Parker and Marina Quiett added nine and eight kills, respectively. Parker also had four blocks while Quiett had three aces.
