{"id":7058,"date":"2026-09-05T19:50:49","date_gmt":"2026-09-05T19:50:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/briansumptersports.com\/?p=7058"},"modified":"2026-09-05T19:50:49","modified_gmt":"2026-09-05T19:50:49","slug":"middletowns-hill-places-fifth-at-lagoon-valley","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/briansumptersports.com\/?p=7058","title":{"rendered":"Middletown&#8217;s Hill places fifth at Lagoon Valley"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Mustangs open cross country season with race in Vacaville<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lake County Sports on Facebook<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>VACAVILLE &gt;&gt; Middletown High School cross country opened its season Saturday at the Lagoon Valley Classic in Vacaville where sophomore Charlize Hill posted a fifth-place finish in the frosh-soph girls division.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hill, competing in a field of 106 runners, completed the 2-mile course in 14 minutes, 1.7 seconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe have a budding star in Charlie Hill,\u201d Middletown head coach Taylor Tiraterra said. \u201cAlso a great first race for Tucker West, who medaled in his freshman race.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>West placed 17<sup>th<\/sup> out of 68 runners in the boys freshman race with a 2-mile time of 13:26.8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the small-school varsity boys race, Isael Haro finished 74<sup>th<\/sup> in a field of 163 runners, crossing the finish line with a 3-mile time o 19:15.9. Teammate Ren Ueno was 89<sup>th<\/sup> in 20:11.3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the small-school varsity girls race, a 3-mile event, Lupita Cabrera placed 62<sup>nd<\/sup> in 25:37.6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Middletown opens its Coastal Mountain Conference schedule Wednesday in Cloverdale at the Asti course.
