{"id":7013,"date":"2026-09-01T20:48:42","date_gmt":"2026-09-01T20:48:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/briansumptersports.com\/?p=7013"},"modified":"2026-09-01T20:48:42","modified_gmt":"2026-09-01T20:48:42","slug":"westshore-jvs-beat-sonoma-31-0","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/briansumptersports.com\/?p=7013","title":{"rendered":"Westshore JVs beat Sonoma 31-0"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Cardinals even season record with shutout road victory<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lake County Sports on Facebook<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SONOMA &gt;&gt; Vincent Rave rushed for 105 yards and two touchdowns while Julian Rascon and Caleb Campbell also had TD runs as the junior varsity Westshore Cardinals beat Sonoma 31-0 in Mendo-Lake Empire Junior Football League action Saturday in Sonoma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Josh King completed a 20-yard touchdown pass to Noah Freeman while Obie Knight had a conversion run.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Westshore (1-1) also had a pair of touchdown runs called back while squaring its season record. Sonoma fell to 0-2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur offensive line did a great job all game opening holes for our backs and making great blocks to keep the offense moving,\u201d Westshore head coach Vince Rave said. \u201cIt was a great day offensively because so many of our players contributed. We had multiple kids step up and make plays when their number was called.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rave and King both had a team-high seven tackles followed by Knight, Mayson Williams and Cruz Munoz with five apiece. Anthonee Lopez added our total tackles, including a shared ack with Cesar Gonzales. Rascon finished with four total tackles and Gonzales had three tackles, including the shared sack with Lopez.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDefensively our boys did a great job rallying to the football and making group tackles,\u201d Rave said. \u201cThey played aggressive, physical football and, most importantly, played together.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Added Rave, \u201cWatching this group continue to come together and pitch a shutout against Sonoma was awesome to see. This was a complete team effort, and I couldn\u2019t be more proud of these kids and the way they competed for Westshore.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All of the league\u2019s teams are off this coming Saturday for the Labor Day holiday.
