{"id":6861,"date":"2026-07-07T17:28:39","date_gmt":"2026-07-07T17:28:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/briansumptersports.com\/?p=6861"},"modified":"2026-07-07T17:28:39","modified_gmt":"2026-07-07T17:28:39","slug":"county-13-under-soccer-team-goes-16-1-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/briansumptersports.com\/?p=6861","title":{"rendered":"County 13-under soccer team goes 16-1-2"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Squad caps first season in NorCal Premier League by winning bronze championship<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lake County Sports on Facebook<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CLEARLAKE &gt;&gt; A 13-under soccer travel team made up of players from Clearlake and Lower Lake recently completed its first season in the NorCal Premier League with a 16-1-2 record.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The team went undefeated through the first half of the season and dropped only one game in the second half while claiming the league\u2019s bronze championship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re incredibly proud of what these young athletes accomplished in their first year of competitive soccer,\u201d head coach Ivahar Enriquez said. \u201cTheir hard work, dedication and teamwork have been amazing to watch, and we can\u2019t wait to see what the future holds for this group.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the standout players were midfielder Angel Perez and team captain and defender Ivan Martinez.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAngel Perez was outstanding in the midfield, controlling the pace of play while finishing as one of the team\u2019s leading scorers,\u201d Enriquez said. \u201cHis vision, creativity and relentless work ethic made him a key contributor throughout both the fall and spring seasons.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Martinez\u2019s contributions were no less significant, according to Enriquez.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIvan Martinez, out team captain, led the defense with confidence and composure,\u201d Enriquez said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Added Enriquez, \u201cOur players showed tremendous growth, dedication and teamwork throughout our inaugural year in competitive soccer.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The team\u2019s coaching staff consists of Enriquez and assistants Manuel Cuevas Mendoza and Jessica Torres.
