It’s been an interesting adjustment, but she came home with a big medal for an incredibly competitive national meet. This was only her second meet of the season, and she has more under her belt this summer. What she’s going to do in high school is entirely on her and what she wants from her future. She’s going to be a great thrower, and the future is bright for her.”

Roy Percoats, an incoming sophomore at Lower Lake High School, ran 34th out of 90 runners in the 100 meters Monday, clocking in at 11.39.

“Roy had a rough start, but the back end wasn’t too bad,” Landgraf said. “This year was incredibly tough and difficult to get out of the prelims. It took an 11.34 in 2025 for the freshman section, and this year it took an 11.04 to get into the finals, so suffice it to say the competition was stiff. It’s a great capstone to a fantastic freshman year. He’s still got the rest of his AAU season, so we’ll see how he finishes his freshman year.”

On Saturday, the 4×100 relay team of Percoats, Hadley Mick, Raijhier McKneely and Christian Rincon, all of Lower Lake High School, struggled.

“They got a DNS (did not start),” Landgraf said. “It’s a learning moment for these young men, but they went home with a school record in the 4×200 from Thursday, so there’s that to be proud of. I couldn’t be more proud of them for this season.”

Incoming KHS freshman places second in shotput at Nike Outdoor Nationals Lake County Sports on Facebook EUGENE, Ore. >> Jojo Meadows, an incoming freshman at Kelseyville High School, placed second in the middle school girls shotput Monday as the Nike Outdoor Nationals drew to a close at the University of Oregon in Eugene.
