While playoff eligible, Kelseyville opted not to apply for an at-large berth in the North Coast Section playoffs, finishing up the regular season 9-12. Wurm pitched well down the stretch for the Knights, who went 7-2 over their final nine league games.

When not pitching balls and strikes, Wurm anchored the Kelseyville infield defense from her shortstop position. At the plate, she hit .304 and ranked high among team leaders in most categories, including hits, runs, RBIs and extra-base hits.

This is the second straight year Wurm has been honored as All-County MVP. She shared the award with another Clear Lake player, Atiana Patino, last season.

Davis hit six home runs in her first season for the Cardinals, the third best single-season total in county history and the most ever hit by a freshman at the varsity level. Though she played several positions for the Cardinals in the field, finally settling in as the starting center fielder, Davis’ natural position is catcher and she will likely move behind the plate for the Cardinals in 2027. Regardless of playing a variety of positions, Davis committed only four errors.

At the plate, Davis had a monster season that any player, regardless of year in school, could appreciate. She batted a team-best .479 while also leading the Cardinals, who finished third in the league standings at 9-5 and 15-9 overall, in hits (34), runs (43), RBIs (28), doubles (10), triples (3) and home runs (6). She also tied for the team lead in walks (24) while striking out only nine times in 100 plate appearances.

In her first taste of postseason play, Davis went 1-for-4 with a run scored in a 13-10 loss to Concord on the opening round of the North Coast Section Division 5 playoffs.

First team

Players named to the All-County first team are, from Clear Lake, seniors Patino (pitcher) and Faith McIntire (catcher), junior Ashlynn Cruz (infielder), and sophomore Cali Albaum (infielder); from Kelseyville, senior Mati Mateer (infielder/outfielder/catcher), and juniors Vanessa Reyes (outfielder/pitcher) and Josie Keithly (infielder); from Lower Lake, senior Jamiya Lee-Ayers (infielder), junior Crystal Pepper (pitcher) and freshman Eden Sparks (infielder); from Upper Lake, sophomore Aubree Sperber and freshman Jordyn Parker; and from Middletown, sophomore Ally Cherry (infielder).

Coach of the Year

Clear Lake’s Scott Schaefers is the Coach of the Year for a second year in a row – he shared the honor with Kelseyville’s Brittany Rumfelt in 2025. Though the Cardinals’ up-and-down play proved to be a bit frustrating at times, Schaefers kept Clear Lake pointed in the right direction as the Cardinals finished third in the league standings behind co-champions Cloverdale and St. Helena, and with another winning overall record. He’ll have to fill several starting positions next season because of graduation losses.

Awards

Most valuable players receive crystal trophies while other members of the All-County team receive medals.
