{"id":6724,"date":"2026-05-22T17:10:39","date_gmt":"2026-05-22T17:10:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/briansumptersports.com\/?p=6724"},"modified":"2026-05-22T17:14:37","modified_gmt":"2026-05-22T17:14:37","slug":"slaught-reymundo-headed-to-nationals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/briansumptersports.com\/?p=6724","title":{"rendered":"Slaight, Reymundo headed to nationals"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Junior high rodeo stars punch their tickets during state championships in Oakdale<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lake County Sports on Facebook<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MIDDLETOWN >> Middletown Middle School students Rylie Slaight and Kaliana Reymundo have qualified for the National Junior High Finals Rodeo on June 21-27 in Guthrie, Oklahoma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Slaight, an eighth-grader, is the California High School Junior High Rodeo District 2 breakaway champion as well as Reserve All-Around Cowgirl in 2026. She qualified in three events at the recent California Junior High Rodeo Championships in Oakdale \u2013 breakaway, team roping and ribbon roping. She captured third place in breakaway at the state championships to earn a spot in the national finals in Oklahoma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reymundo, a sixth-grader, won the pole bending championship and was Junior Queen in District 2 this season.
