{"id":6668,"date":"2026-05-15T18:09:15","date_gmt":"2026-05-15T18:09:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/briansumptersports.com\/?p=6668"},"modified":"2026-05-15T18:09:15","modified_gmt":"2026-05-15T18:09:15","slug":"lancers-reach-semifinals-with-20-2-win","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/briansumptersports.com\/?p=6668","title":{"rendered":"Lancers reach semifinals with 20-2 win"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Mountain Vista softball advances to play Obsidian on Saturday at Middletown<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lake County Sports on Facebook<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>KELSEYVILLE &gt;&gt; Mountain Vista beat Terrace 20-2 in four innings in the opening round of the Lake County Junior High Athletic League softball postseason tournament Thursday afternoon at Kelseyville.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Lancers now advance to the semifinal round against Obsidian on Saturday at Middletown High School beginning at 10:30 a.m. The winner moves on to the championship game against the Middletown-Upper Lake semifinal winner at 1:30 p.m. Semifinal-round losers play for third place, also at 1:30 p.m. All games take place at Middletown High\u2019s softball fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nevaeh Davis pitched all four innings for the Lancers, scattering three hits, striking out nine and walking only one. She had all kinds of offensive support from her teammates, including Aubrey Mullen (1-for-1, two RBIs), who homered, and Maylee Antoni, who went 3-for-3 with a double and four RBIs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other Mountain Vista hitter leaders were Davis (2-for-2, double, RBI), Kaitlyn Tarin (1-for-2, two RBIs), Aliana Gomez (1-for-2, three RBIs), Kaelyn Leboy (1-for-2, two RBIs), Fiona White (1-for-1, two RBIs), and Ari Patti (1-for-1, two RBIs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe hit the ball well, only swung at strikes, made smart decisions on the basepaths and played good defense,\u201d Mountain Vista head coach David Kennedy said. \u201cIt was a very well-round game for us. Nevaeh Davis was the star pitching the complete game and adding two great hits, one of which hit near the fence.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Added Kennedy, \u201cHats off to Terrace. They showed up with only nine players and had their pitcher get hurt in the last inning. They hung around, battled and held their heads up high in a tough environment and literally refused to quit when offered the chance by the umpires to do so.
