Kelseyville falls to top-seeded Miramonte in first round of sectional playoffs<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

ORINDA >> For a No. 16 seed, the Kelseyville High School boys volleyball went down swinging, figuratively and literally, Tuesday night against No. 1 seed Miramonte in the opening round of the North Coast Section Division 4 playoffs at Orinda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Miramonte (17-12) beat Kelseyville 25-22, 25-19, 18-25, 25-20 to advance to the quarterfinals. The Knights close out their season at 14-17.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI would like to start by thanking my team,\u201d Kelseyville head coach Kc White said. \u201cAll 11 of them bought in fully and completely. They knew it was going to be challenging, both for the new players playing a new sport and for the returning players playing with guys that had never played before, but they became a really good volleyball team. The finished product that we saw last week and again tonight shows that hard work, dedication, and commitment pay off.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Added White, \u201cWe pushed the No. 1 seed to the brink tonight. After a rough start due to nerves, we settled in and made them compete in the first set. We got off to another rough start in the second set, and we were on the brink of breaking. I used both of my timeouts early in the set to try to motivate them, and it worked. We became supportive of one another rather than hanging our heads and started to play really good volleyball. The end of the second set carried over to the third set. The score line in that third set didn\u2019t reflect how much we dominated them. We allowed them a few late points to make it look closer, but we really put the hammer down. We started the fourth set really well, got out to a lead, even led 18-17, but ultimately got stuck in a tough rotation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andon Beall closed out his sensational 2026 season and career with 13 kills, 16 digs, four blocks and one ace. Diego Rico added 29 assists, 11 digs and one ace, George Cline had 29 digs, and Miguel Corona had seven kills and eight digs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other team leaders were Kolby Medina with five kills, five digs and two aces, Sebastian Cacho with four kills, nine digs and one block, and Jose Mejia with eight digs and two aces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDespite losing, the boys made me proud, but more importantly, made Kelseyville proud,\u201d White said. \u201cThey played with so much heart. I feel for my five seniors, but they can go out with no regrets. They left everything on the floor.\u00a0Andon Beall was the best player on the floor tonight. They sent a triple block at him all night and he still managed 13 kills. Andon is so deserving of\u00a0every single accolade he has received since beginning his volleyball career in 2024. What a truly special talent. He made me look like a decent coach, which says a lot. It really was as simple as, \u2018set Andon\u2019 and just let him go to work. He is irreplaceable.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
