{"id":6492,"date":"2026-04-30T19:11:31","date_gmt":"2026-04-30T19:11:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/briansumptersports.com\/?p=6492"},"modified":"2026-04-30T19:11:31","modified_gmt":"2026-04-30T19:11:31","slug":"borghesani-is-mvp-on-all-north-tennis-team","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/briansumptersports.com\/?p=6492","title":{"rendered":"Borghesani is MVP on All-North tennis team"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Kelseyville High School senior is a unanimous selection for MVP award<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lake County Sports on Facebook<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>LAKE COUNTY &gt;&gt; Kelseyville High School senior Maddy Borghesani, the No. 1 singles player for the Knights, has been named the most valuable player on the All-Coastal Mountain Conference North team as selected by the league\u2019s coaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because tennis is a co-ed sport in the Coastal Mountain Conference, Borghesani plays only boys during the regular season, battling the best of the best that the North has to offer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSolid year with losses to only the top boys in the section,\u201d Kelseyville head coach Andy Dobusch said of last year\u2019s runner-up in girls singles at the CMC Championships (which divides the competition into boys and girls divisions in singles and doubles). \u201cShe is the No. 3 in this year\u2019s CMC Championship. She was a unanimous selection (for MVP).\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During her career, Borghesani has qualified twice for the NCS championships in doubles in addition to reaching the CMC girls singles finals a year ago. She is a two-year Kelseyville team captain and MVP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Joining Borghesani on the All-North team is teammate Olivia Raabe, Middletown\u2019s Will Hoskins and Harrison Brown, Mendocino\u2019s Max Oatney, Anderson Valley\u2019s Guy Kephart, and Willits\u2019 Salissa Leon and Lissbeth Hernandez.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seeded from Lake County in the CMC Championships, which take place Friday and Saturday in Rohnert Park are Borghesani, No. 3 in girls singles; Middletown\u2019s Hoskins, No. 6 in boys singles; Raabe and Riley Hanson, No. 4 in girls doubles; and Leland Pike and Nalu Johnson, No. 4 in boys doubles.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kelseyville High School senior is a unanimous selection for MVP award Lake County Sports on Facebook LAKE COUNTY &gt;&gt; Kelseyville High School senior Maddy Borghesani, the No. 1 singles player for the Knights, has been named the most valuable player on the All-Coastal Mountain Conference North team as selected by the league\u2019s coaches.
