Chloe Berry also drove in two runs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Emmie Hernanez pitched the final three innings for the victory, striking out six and walking six.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chevelle Sprague went 2-for-4 for Lucerne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both teams are home Wednesday for 4:30 p.m. games. Middletown hosts Upper Lake while Lucerne hosts Mountain Vista.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In other middle school action Monday:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mountain Vista 10, Obsidian 0 (5 inn.)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At Kelseyville, Maylee Antoni pitched a two-hitter, striking out eight as the Mountain Vista Lancers shut out the Obsidian Bears in five innings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Antoni also had one of Mountain Vista\u2019s four hits. Kaitlyn Tarin went 1-for-2 with a double and RBI, Aliana Gomez knocked in two runs, and both Aubrey Mullin (1-for-2) and Fiona White (1-for-1) knocked in runs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Lancers improved to 2-0 in league play and 4-5 overall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe had an absolute gem of a pitching performance by Maylee Antoni and a strong defensive game overall,\u201d Mountain Vista head coach David Kennedy said. \u201cObsidian\u2019s pitcher was very good, but we were able to string together enough good at-bats to get some runs.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mountain Vista visits Lucerne on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Broncos hold off Lucerne for 7-6 victory; Mountain Vista shuts out Obsidian 10-0 Lake County Sports on Facebook MIDDLETOWN &gt;&gt; The Middletown Middle School softball team held off Lucerne 7-6 in softball action Monday in Middletown.
