{"id":6149,"date":"2026-03-30T19:19:12","date_gmt":"2026-03-30T19:19:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/briansumptersports.com\/?p=6149"},"modified":"2026-03-30T19:19:12","modified_gmt":"2026-03-30T19:19:12","slug":"eagles-win-fifth-sixth-grade-division","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/briansumptersports.com\/?p=6149","title":{"rendered":"Eagles win fifth-, sixth-grade division"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Team goes 3-0 at Westshore All-Star Tournament in Lakeport<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lake County Sports on Facebook<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>LAKEPORT >> The Lake County Eagles club boys basketball team finished first in the fifth- and sixth-grade division Saturday the Westshore All-Star Tournament in Lakeport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Eagles dominated Westshore in the championship game, winning 46-12 behind 13 points and two steals from Jace Johnson, 12 points for Isaiah Reyes, seven points, four rebounds, four assists and four steals from Charlie Mulanda, and five points, seven rounds and four assists from LJ Hopkins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis was to show how much blood, sweat and tears we have put into the season, and I am so proud of every single one of our boys to come out there and make a statement the way they did,\u201d head coach Mason Smith said. \u201cJust shows how hard we have worked and where we have come from when we first started this travel ball team. It\u2019s a pleasure to coach all these boys. They have a bright future in the game.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Eagles advanced to the championship game with a 45-23 win over Bloodline of Coyote Valley in the semifinals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThey were a good ballclub and well coached,\u201d Smith said. \u201cWe just came out aggressive and shut down their No. 1 threat, who is a sixth-grader and played on the eighth-grade team for Upper Lake and was their MVP.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Darius Dubose\u2019s defense against Bloodline\u2019s top player made a huge difference, according to Smith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHe did an outstanding job on him and didn\u2019t give him much room to operate,\u201d Smith said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reyes led the Eagles with 18 points, nine rebounds and seven steals while Asten Wienke added seven points, two assists and two steals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur defense won that game, no doubt,\u201d Smith said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Eagles opened tournament play Saturday morning with a 64-10 victory over Northshore, getting production from starters and reserves alike. Reyes led the way with 15 points and seven rebounds while Mulanda added 13 points and nine rebounds. Wienke chipped in 10 points, William Pisaro had eight points and 10 rebounds, and Johnson had eight points. Dubose finished with 11 rebounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reyes was named MVP while Wienke was named to the All-Tournament team.
