The game was called after five innings because of the 10-run mercy rule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Winning pitcher Atiana Patino tossed a two-hitter and struck out seven while Kam Cresto (1-for-2, 4 RBIs) and Lindee Bingham (2-for-3, 3 RBIs) combined to knock in seven runs as the Cardinals improved to 3-0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s nice seeing us get better every game,\u201d Clear Lake head coach Scott Schaefers said. \u201cOur fielding is getting better, and our seniors are leading the way on offense.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Patino pitched her third game in five days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among other senior contributors were Faith McIntire, who went 2-for-2 with a double, a RBI and three runs scored, and Karsyn Greer, who went 1-for-2 with two RBIs and three runs scored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Clear Lake\u2019s other hits belonged to Cali Albaum, Maddie Kollach, Anjoli Scott, Abbi Malley and Hailey Perez. Albaum, Scott, Malley, Perez Patino and Amelie Davis all had RBIs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Cardinals host Sutter on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In other softball action Friday:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Willits 12, Upper Lake 2 (5 inn.)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At Willits, the Willits Wolverines built a 9-0 lead en route to a five-inning victory over the Upper Lake Cougars (1-1).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Upper Lake scored both of its runs in the top of the fourth to make it 9-2. Willits scored its final three runs in the bottom of the fifth, at which point the 10-run mercy rule ended the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jordyn Parker and Aubree Sperber scored the Cougars\u2019 runs.
