She helped the Knights finish tied for second place in the league standings, one game behind Hoogendoorn’s Mustangs. Kelseyville reached the North Coast Section Division 3 quarterfinals as well, beating a Division 1 school, Antioch, in the opening round, before falling to a Division 2 school, Mission San Jose, in the quarterfinals.

Along the way, Wurm scored her 1,000th career point, finishing her four-year varsity run with 1,116.

Much like Wurm, Middletown’s success on the court this season, including a third straight league title, ran through the talented sophomore. As Hoogendoorn went, so did the Mustangs. With several varsity players returning next season and elements of a championship junior varsity team moving up to the varsity, Hoogendoorn and the Mustangs should be a force in the NCL I for years to come.

Middletown finished 12-2 in the league standings and 18-8 overall.

First team

Three Lake County players also pulled down All-League first-team honors.
