Mountain Vista boosted its lead to 13 points by the end of the third quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Samaya Ellis had eight points for the Lancers, who improved to 12-4 on the season. They close out league play, where they\u2019re 6-1, on Monday in Middletown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In other middle school girls action Wednesday:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Terrace A 33, Obsidian A 32<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At Lakeport, Hayden Perez scored 14 points and Cassie Candelario-Gamez added 12 as the Terrace A team edged Obsidian A in a game where the lead changed hands several times in the final minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe girls grinded out another win,\u201d Terrace coach Louie Sanchez said. \u201cWe\u2019re starting to turn it around just in time. Good team effort again tonight.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the B game, Terrace and Obsidian played three overtime periods before the game was declared a 21-21 tie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWow, what a game!\u201d Sanchez said. \u201cI had my top three scorers out with the flu and only had seven to start the game. We played the last two overtimes with only five.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alyssa Erlandson scored 13 points and Amelia Vezeu had six for Terrace. Kendra Partida helped out with 10 rebounds and nine steals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBoth teams battled and played tough,\u201d Sanchez said. \u201cProud of my girls for battling with a good, tough team.
