The defense stepped up big time for us tonight.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Obsidian\u2019s next game is Jan. 26 against Mountain Vista in Kelseyville.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In girls middle school action Wednesday:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mountain Vista A 41, Obsidian A 31<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At Clearlake, Samaya Ellis scored 15 points and Jodeci Meadows finished with 11 as the Mountain Vista Middle School A team beat Obsidian A.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mountain Vista, now 6-1 in league play and 11-4 overall, took a 20-15 lead into halftime. Starting the second half in a press defense, the Lancers pushed their lead to nine points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIn the fourth the game fluctuated some, but the Lancers maintained their composure down the stretch,\u201d Mountain Vista head coach Shaun Robinson said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Audrey Panella scored seven points for the Lancers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mountain Vista holds its eighth-grade night Wednesday at home with a non-league game against Anderson Valley. On Jan. 26, the Lancers travel to Middletown for their final league game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Upper Lake A 31, Terrace A 29<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At Lakeport, Cassie Candelario-Gamez finished with a double-double of 11 points and 11 rebounds, but the Terrace Vikings still lost to the Upper Lake Wildcats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Avery Perry also had seven points for Terrace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe girls played well,\u201d Terrace head coach Jose Villela said \u201cWe tend to start slow and play catch-up, and we came up short.
