{"id":5031,"date":"2025-12-15T20:41:33","date_gmt":"2025-12-15T20:41:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/briansumptersports.com\/?p=5031"},"modified":"2025-12-15T20:41:33","modified_gmt":"2025-12-15T20:41:33","slug":"mtown-club-sends-28-wrestlers-to-tourney","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/briansumptersports.com\/?p=5031","title":{"rendered":"M&#8217;town club sends 28 wrestlers to tourney"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Yebra takes first, Lloyd, Glasgow claim second-place medals at Takedown Before Christmas<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lake County Sports on Facebook<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>LOWER LAKE &gt;&gt; The Middletown Wrestling Club sent 28 wrestlers to the Takedown Before Christmas on Sunday, a tournament sponsored by the Gladiator Wrestling Club, at Lower Lake High School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Middletown wrestlers came away with eight medals and several just missed a top-three finish in their respective divisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Andres Yebra won the 95-pound TOC division while second-place medals went to Cormac Lloyd at 81 pounds and Diana Glasgow in the middle school girls 128-pound division. Bringing home third-place medals were Shiloh Fourie at 40 pounds, Froylan Ornelas at 81 pounds, Westley Cory at 95 pounds, Knox Chestnut at 120 pounds, and Kameron Colston in the 135-pound TOC division.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe crowd went wild in the gym for the championship match as he took on a very great opponent,\u201d Middletown co-coach Dominic Fanucchi said of Yebra\u2019s final match. \u201cYebra controlled the match and wrestled smart.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fanucchi said he was thrilled with Middletown\u2019s turnout for the tournament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe youth wrestlers came out in force and Middletown is super excited for the remainder of the season and to see the growth,\u201d Fanucchi said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fanucchi also praised the efforts of Glasgow in the middle school girls division.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cShe fought hard through the day and came away with silver,\u201d Fanucchi said. \u201cIt\u2019s only her second season and I\u2019m excited to see her growth.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yebra takes first, Lloyd, Glasgow claim second-place medals at Takedown Before Christmas Lake County Sports on Facebook LOWER LAKE &gt;&gt; The Middletown Wrestling Club sent 28 wrestlers to the Takedown Before Christmas on Sunday, a tournament sponsored by the Gladiator Wrestling Club, at Lower Lake High School.
