{"id":4966,"date":"2025-12-10T22:26:51","date_gmt":"2025-12-10T22:26:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/briansumptersports.com\/?p=4966"},"modified":"2025-12-10T22:28:32","modified_gmt":"2025-12-10T22:28:32","slug":"middletown-middle-school-teams-split","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/briansumptersports.com\/?p=4966","title":{"rendered":"Middletown Middle School teams split"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>A squad beats Baechtel Grove 46-28, B team drops 14-13 decision<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lake County Sports on Facebook<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MIDDLETOWN >> The Middletown Middle School A and B girls basketball teams hosted Baechtel Grove of Willits in a pair of non-league games Tuesday night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Middletown\u2019s A team won 46-28 behind 15 points, six rebounds and two blocks from Sophia Azevedo, 10 points and three steals from Remmi Harbison, and a 5-for-6 night at the free-throw line from Katera Gotz, who finished with seven points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also contributing to the win were Peyton Beeler with four steals and three rebounds, and Olivia May with seven rebounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cGetting ready for the Crescent City tournament (on Friday against Palermo) we tried a lot of new things both offensively and defensively, and the girls responded well,\u201d Middletown head coach Wayne Harbison said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Baechtel Grove won 14-13 in the B game even though Middletown limited its opponent to two second-half points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lol Fults, Madison Lewis and Avery Zolensky had four points apiece for Middletown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur second half was much better defensively,\u201d Middletown head coach Dustin Fults said. \u201cWe just couldn\u2019t get one more shot to fall in the last minutes.
