They just ran out of steam at the end.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sarah Fetters, a senior guard, led the Mustangs with 14 points, including four 3-pointers. Thaly Rodriguez added five points, including Middletown\u2019s other 3-pointer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSome of our starters got into foul trouble, but it was a good opportunity for our bench to get some good play time and have to work through some game situations against a very solid team.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ukiah erased a 21-20 Middletown halftime lead with a 16-3 third quarter and never looked back.<br><br>Izzi Hoogendoorn led the Mustangs with eight rebounds and also had four steals and four assists. Fetters pulled down six rebounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Middletown hosts Willits next Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Middletown\u2019s junior varsity squad used a big second half to beat Ukiah 40-28. The Mustangs outscored the Wildcats 30-15 over the final two quarters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe girls played consistent basketball for four quarters,\u201d said Williams, who was filling in for JV head coach Daryl Dacosta. \u201cWe were down slightly going into the third quarter, and we came out with a lot of energy, and they never let up.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Grace Williams filled up the stats sheet for Middletown with team highs in points (13) and rebounds (11). She also finished with four assists, four steals and two blocks. Ally Cherry added seven points and a team-best eight steals. Chloe Pulido finished with six points while Emma Davis and Jolene Holley each had five points. Davis pulled down six rebounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFreshman Grace Williams stepped up her offense and rebounding, which was clutch,\u201d Williams said. \u201cAlly Cherry was another standout player all around with her steals and rebounding.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In other Foundation Game action Tuesday:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Willits 58, Clear Lake 50<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At Willits, the Willits Wolverines beat the Clear Lake Cardinals 58-50.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No other details were reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Clear Lake\u2019s JVs beat Willits 34-32 behind 12 points from Hailey Perez, seven from Cali Albaum, six from Macie Snyder and five from Ava Gamble.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe team struggled to run our offense, but that is expected at this early stage in the season,\u201d Clear Lake head coach Tony Farrington said. \u201cHowever, they hustled and played good defense, forcing a number of key turnovers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Cardinals took a nine-point lead into the fourth quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe have a pretty green team, but I think that we have a good foundation to work with,\u201d Farrington said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Clear Lake returns home Friday as part of a four-game set with McKinleyville.
