{"id":4501,"date":"2025-10-27T15:35:38","date_gmt":"2025-10-27T15:35:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/briansumptersports.com\/?p=4501"},"modified":"2025-10-27T16:00:01","modified_gmt":"2025-10-27T16:00:01","slug":"westshore-pee-wees-win-18-0-playoffs-next","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/briansumptersports.com\/?p=4501","title":{"rendered":"Westshore pee wees win 18-0, playoffs next"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>King, Rave spark Cardinals against playoff-bound Kelseyville Chiefs<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lake County Sports on Facebook<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>KELSEYVILLE &gt;&gt; It\u2019s good to be King, in this case quarterback Josh King of the pee wee Westshore Cardinals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>King rushed for 111 yards and a touchdown and also completed a 20-yard pass to Noah Freeman as Westshore shut out the Kelseyville Chiefs 18-0 in the Jr. Bass Bowl series on Saturday afternoon in Kelseyville.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>King received offensive MVP honors during the game, one during which the Westshore offense line did its job of opening up holes for the ballcarriers, according to head coach Vince Rave. One of those players was King, another running back Vincent Rave, who finished with 95 yards rushing and two TDs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe were able to spread the ball around and a lot of these kids got some touches,\u201d Rave said. \u201cI love to see everyone playing selfless football.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Westshore\u2019s defense did the rest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDefensively we got another shutout,\u201d Rave said. \u201cWe had a lot of these boys stepping up making solid tackles.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rave finished with five solo tackles and seven assists and was named the game\u2019s defensive MVP. King finished with four solo tackles, four assists and a fumble recovery. Mason Williams added five total tackles while Elius Mendoza, Obie Knight and Hayes Eagle had four tackles apiece. Micah Johnson forced a fumble.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt was a fun, wet game against a tough team that made the playoffs,\u201d Rave said of the Chiefs (6-4), who will advance to next Saturday\u2019s playoff round as will the Cardinals (9-1). \u201cThese boys showed up and were pumped up and ready to go.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Added Rave, \u201cI\u2019m proud of these kids and the way they have been playing for each other and together. Our coaches have been doing an awesome job getting them ready week in and week out.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Westshore hosts Lower Lake (7-1-2) on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Clear Lake High School in Lakeport. Napa (9-0-1) and Kelseyville play in the other pee wee semifinal at 3:30 p.m. at Kelseyville High School.
