That\u2019s what Kat Wheelan did midway through the second half Thursday, lifting the Kelseyville Knights to a 1-0 road victory over Fort Bragg in North Central League I varsity girls soccer action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a scoreless deadlock that showed no signs of ending, Wheelan\u2019s knee was the answer as a shot on goal ricocheted off her knee and into the net.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFrom the start, the Knights controlled possession and set the pace of play, but it quickly became clear this was going to be a physical contest,\u201d Kelseyville head coach Irma Rodriguez said of the team\u2019s 12<sup>th<\/sup> shutout win of the season. \u201cThe defense held a strong, organized line, shutting down Fort Bragg\u2019s attacks and keeping their offense off the scoreboard.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kelseyville improved to 8-0 in league play and 18-1 overall with the win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIn the end, the Lady Knights\u2019 resilience, teamwork and defensive grit proved too much for Fort Bragg,\u201d Rodriguez said. \u201cThis was a well-fought, physical game tonight. I\u2019m really proud of the team. A big thank you to all the parents who traveled to support the team.
