{"id":4169,"date":"2025-10-03T17:03:06","date_gmt":"2025-10-03T17:03:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/briansumptersports.com\/?p=4169"},"modified":"2025-10-03T18:25:38","modified_gmt":"2025-10-03T18:25:38","slug":"trojans-hand-knights-first-league-loss","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/briansumptersports.com\/?p=4169","title":{"rendered":"Trojans hand Knights first league loss"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>K&#8217;ville boys drop from first to third in standings with 2-1 loss to Lower Lake<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lake County Sports on Facebook<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>LOWER LAKE &gt;&gt; The Lower Lake Trojans knocked the Kelseyville Knights from atop the North Central League I boys soccer standings with a 2-1 victory Thursday afternoon in Lower Lake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fort Bragg (5-0-1) is the only remaining undefeated team followed by Lower Lake (5-1) and Kelseyville (4-1-1).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t feel very comfortable discussing the events of the game at this juncture because I don\u2019t have much nice to say and I was taught not to say anything in those instances,\u201d Kelseyville head coach Kc White said. \u201cI will say that my guys fought hard tonight, and they deserve all the praise that should come to them for staying united s a team under intense pressure to act out as the other team did.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All of the scoring took place in the first half. Kelseyville\u2019s lone goal was an unassisted score by Sebastian Cacho in the 12<sup>th<\/sup> minute, which tied the score 1-1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anthony Garcia scored with an assist from Edwin Castellanos for Lower Lake&#8217;s first goal. Adrian Guzman snapped the 1-1 tie. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kelseyville resumes its league schedule Tuesday at home against Clear Lake at 4:30 p.m. Lower Lake returns to action Tuesday in Upper Lake at 4:30 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In other NCL I boys action Thursday:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Upper Lake 2, Middletown 1<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At Upper Lake, Upper Lake built a 2-0 halftime lead and held off the Middletown Mustangs in a battle of two teams looking for their first league win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jaden Nunez and Aiden Dancer scored for the Cougars (1-5) with assists from Isais Narvaes and Emmanuel Tapia. Alan Alvarado stopped seven shots on goal for Upper Lake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt was a hard, physical game,\u201d Upper Lake head coach Thomas Santana said. \u201cMiddletown plays strong. They\u2019ve got big bodies and know how to use them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nunez scored in the 10th minute, and Dancer knocked one into the net in the 25<sup>th<\/sup> minute to make it 2-0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMiddletown came out really strong in the second half with a constant attack,\u201d Santana said. \u201cOne of my strong center backs, Mario Olvera, got hurt early in the second, so I had to move striker Jaden (Nunez) back to fill his spot.
