FORT BRAGG >> A drive deep into Fort Bragg territory late in the fourth quarter ended with an interception as the Lower Lake Trojans fell 12-8 to the Timberwolves in North Central League I varsity football action Friday night at Timberwolf Stadium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the Timberwolves (2-1 league, 2-3 overall) have quickly rejuvenated their season with back-to-back, low-scoring home victories over Kelseyville and Lower Lake, the Trojans (0-3, 2-3) lost a third straight league game that they had opportunities o win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe caught a couple of passes near the goal line there at the end, but both came back on penalties,\u201d Lower Lake head coach Jay Jakubowski said. \u201cOne was legitimate.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lower Lake has been competitive in all three of its league losses but hasn\u2019t been able to crack the win column.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe played good football in doses,\u201d Jakubowski said. \u201cWe can\u2019t put together a full game.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All of the scoring in Friday\u2019s game took place in the first half. Lower Lake took an 8-0 lead on a 9-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Ashton Hartmann to Jordan Rohrbacker and Hartmann’s conversion pass to Brody Shields. The Timberwolves closed to 8-6 before pushing ahead to stay with a touchdown right before halftime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Game statistics weren\u2019t available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fort Bragg won the junior varsity game 57-20.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Trojans return home next Friday to play Willits (1-1, 3-1). Fort Bragg travels to Upper Lake (0-3, 0-5).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
