The Lady Mustangs topped the field in team scoring, placing four runners in the top seven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe core of our girls teams couldn\u2019t be stronger,\u201d Middletown head coach Taylor Tiraterra said. \u201cRen (Ueno), Len (Rivas) and Landon (Pisaro) are all potential star runners. We\u2019re very excited to see what we can pull off this year as our new runners get better.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Girls<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Corinna Schlatter of St. Helena, the course record holder, dominated the girls race with a first-place time of 19 minutes, 4 seconds. Middletown\u2019s Rivas finished second (23:25) in front of Fort Bragg\u2019s Emily Olvera (23:26) and Kelseyville\u2019s Aylin Aguilar (23:47). Middletown\u2019s Nala Montgomery rounded out the top field at 25:08.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Middletown\u2019s Lupita Cabrera came in sixth (25:09) and teammate Alivia Stark (25:21) was seventh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A field of 31 runners competed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Final team scores (lowest score wins in cross country) had Middletown with 40, St. Helena with 49 and Kelseyville with 86. All other teams were incomplete (fewer than four runners).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Boys<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Joann Garcia Blanco of Fort Bragg won the boys race in 17:32, finishing 14 seconds ahead of Middletown\u2019s Pisaro (17:46). Ueno (18:10) secured third place by a similar margin over St. Helena\u2019s Charlie Watson (18:25). Walker Aycock of Fort Bragg was fifth at 18:40.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Middletown\u2019s Isael Haro also cracked the top 10, placing 10<sup>th<\/sup> in 19:34, just two seconds behind ninth-place finisher Gael Lopez (19:32) of Cloverdale. Other top-10 finishers were Oly Dodd of St. Helena, sixth in 19:06; Xander Caranicolas of Fort Bragg, seventh in 19:10; and David Hinojosa of Fort Bragg, eighth in 19:12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Final teams scores had Fort Bragg with 36, St. Helena with 52, Middletown with 67, Willits with 102 and Lower Lake with 180.
