Mountain Vista (6-3 overall) rallied for three runs in the sixth, but it wasn\u2019t enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe were missing four players due to injuries and spring break, but no excuses,\u201d Mountain Vista head coach Patrick Mick said. \u201cWe jut played poorly today, hats off to Middletown.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While the Broncos managed just four hits, they also drew nine walks. Sophie Stetson (1-for-2) also knocked in a run for Middletown. Anaya Kilstrom and Brennah Genetiano also had hits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Winning pitcher Lilliaunna Reyes struck out eight and walked five. Losing pitcher Paelynn Beall struck out nine and walked nine in 3 2\/3 innings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kiera Mick went 2-for-3 for Mountain Vista Middle School. Brooke Poff, Dezzy Anderson, Madi Byrne and Gabby Keyes, who doubled, also had hits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both teams turned a double play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mountain Vista returns to action Wednesday against Terrace Middle School in Lakeport. Middletown hits the road to play Obsidian Middle School on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In other middle school action Monday:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Upper Lake 11, Obsidian 10<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At Upper Lake, Obsidian\u2019s Eden Sparks hit for the cycle while driving in six of Obsidian\u2019s 10 runs in a league loss to the Upper Lake Wildcats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sparks (4-for-4) had a three-run home run and bases-loaded triple for the Bears.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBoth teams fought to the last pitch,\u201d Obsidian coach Luis Perez said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Zeanna Carver went 3-for-4 and Mariah Robinson went 2-for-2 with two RBIs as Obsidian fell to 2-2 in league play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Losing pitcher Ali Bobbit struck out 10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Upper Lake statistics were not available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Obsidian hosts Middletown on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Terrace 11, Lucerne 9<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At Lucerne, losing pitcher Angelina Gozony went 3-for-3 with a RBI as Lucerne gave the Terrace Vikings all they could want in a league game.
