The game was halted after four innings because of the 10-run mercy rule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ally Abreu, Lucerne\u2019s catcher, went 2-for-3 with a double and scored a run. Chevelle Sprague went 2-for-2 with a double and a RBI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Losing pitcher Angelina Gozony struck out eight and walked four.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lucerne coach Fred Miller praised the play of shortstop Sophie Basurto, outfielders Anayeli Giron, Bella O\u2019Sullivan, Lucy Boke and Shalik Aguilar, and Lola Kella.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Natalia Harley went 0-for-2 with a RBI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Head ump Kevin Henderson told the girls after the game, &#8216;This is not the same Lucerne team he&#8217;s used to,&#8217; &#8221; Lucerne head coach Fred Miller said. &#8220;My girls&#8217; eyes lit up. They have never been so happy after a loss. That was a big compliment from a guy who has been around for a long time.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Carly Gleason went 3-for-3 with four RBIs for Mountain Vista.
