Three other Mountain Vista batters were hit by pitches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cLaytonville pitching is a work in progress,\u201d Kelseyville head coach Patrick Mick said. \u201cWe didn\u2019t let our girls steal one base, just went station to station one at a tie to extend the game so our reserves could get some at-bats.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Making their middle school pitching debuts were Maylee Antoni, who worked the first two innings and struck out two, and Amelia Kennedy, who pitched one inning and struck out two. Both are sixth-graders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI was so proud of them and pleasantly surprised,\u201d Mick said. \u201cHaving a lot of pitching I a good problem to have.
