Kelseyville’s Olivia Hommer played the day’s most competitive match, beating Cloverdale’s Jane Wood 6-1, 5-7, 6-2 in third singles.

“She stayed patient and played great defense,” Kelseyville head coach Andy Dobusch said. “Sometimes Olivia’s tendency is to go for winners on every shot. Today, she played extremely smart, mature tennis. There was a bit of drama in the match, but Olivia kept focused and used it to propel her to a win in the decisive third set.”

Maddy Borghesani beat Dylan Sanchez 6-1, 6-3 in first singles.

“Lots of hard-hitting in this match,” Dobusch said. “It was a fun one to watch. Nice baseline rallies. Maddy’s serve was on today. She covers the court well and is a smart, athletic player. The player of the day was Olivia Raabe. She was aggressive and effective at the net. She played great at the baseline and served well.”

Olivia Bushey and Brooklyn Young won 6-2, 6-1 in second doubles, beating Yolanda Reyes and Andrea Garcia.

“It’s fun to watch the rapid improvement of both these players,” Dobusch said. “They limited their unforced errors and got more serves in than their opponents.
