WILLITS >> Willits threw a scare Middletown\u2019s way with a five-run bottom of the seventh inning, but the Mustangs held on to defeat the Wolverines 11-9 in non-league softball action Wednesday afternoon at Willits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Winning pitcher Brooklyn Wood went 3-for-4 with two doubles and four RBIs as the Mustangs (3-0) beat the Wolverines for the second time this season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Trailing 3-2 after one inning, Middletown pushed ahead to stay with a four-run top of the second. The Mustangs took an 11-4 lead into the bottom of the seventh when Wood walked her only two batters of the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bev Fetters and Sarah Fetters had two hits apiece for Middletown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
