Rubi Reygoza of Kelseyville finished second at 28-2.5. In the discus, Ocken had a winning toss of 77-3 followed by Reygoza at 74-0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOcken only had one week of practice after competing in the wrestling state championship last weekend,\u201d Middletown head coach Wyatt Hall aid. \u201cThis is a good starting point for her, and I know she will continue to grow throughout the season.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Middletown\u2019s Isa Barnes won the high jump, clearing 4-6. Teammate Mia Hoogendoorn came in second at 4-2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cShe has been working hard in practice, so it is great to see the results of that hard work,\u201d Hall said. \u201cWhile I kept all of my other sophomores down in the frosh-soph division, Isa is solely a varsity athlete, and I think she will rack up some more first-place finishes this season.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kelseyville\u2019s Nyejzniya Krohn won the long jump in 15-0. Barnes came in second at 14-8.5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Varsity boys<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Middletown four-year varsity veteran Bryan Sanchez cleared 11-0 to easily win the pole vault. Teammate Aiden Cadwallader was next at 7-6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHe has improved year after year,\u201d Hall said. \u201cToward the end of last year he tied our school record with a jump of 11-6. We are still early in the second, so it is great to see he is already nearing his personal record.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other top Middletown finishers were Seth Watson, who was second in the discus at 115-7; Bryton Caviness, who was second in the high jump at 5-2; and Elijah Norris, who was second in the long jump at 16-4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; i<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kelseyville\u2019s Nikolai Trippo finished third in the shotput at 34-7, and teammate Jacob Parker was third in the high jump at 5-0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Frosh-soph boys<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Middletown\u2019s Ren Ueno won the frosh-soph pole vault at 7-6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cRen is an amazing distance runner, but he is starting to really pick up the pole vault,\u201d Hall said. \u201cDue to the weather, he has only had limited practice time with full vaults, so 7-6 is just the beginning for him.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hector Murillo of Lower Lake won the long jump in 17-4 and teammate Raijhier McKneely won the high jump in 5-2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kelseyville\u2019s John Carr won the shotput in 35-8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Frosh-soph girls<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Middletown\u2019s Ally Cherry won the frosh-soph girls pole vault in 6-0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cShe won the pole vault today in softball pants,\u201d Hall said. \u201cCherry is dual sporting in track and softball where she will be playing varsity as a freshman. Cherry is an amazing athlete and has such a strong work ethic. After she completed her event, she went over to the softball field to complete her (softball) practice.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Middletown\u2019s Veronica Daughtery won the long jump in 13-2 while teammate Jadyn Owens was second in 12-5.5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDaughtery is another one of my hard workers,\u201d Hall said. \u201cShe improved a lot last season as a freshman and is already picking up where she left off.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lower Lake\u2019s Cristal Castro-Luna won the high jump in 3-5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cA lot of Lake County athletes did well,\u201d Hall said of Friday\u2019s action. \u201cAll of our teams have increased in number since last year, which is great to see.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Looking back at Middletown\u2019s overall performance, Hall said he was quite pleased.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOverall, it was a successful meet for my team.
