Back on the court three days later, the Knights (5-0 league, 14-1 overall) needed a victory against the Cardinals (3-1) to remain atop the league standings and that proved to be no problem at all for coach Liz Berry’s squad.

“We came out ready to play after our loss on Saturday,” Berry said. “We outscored them 15-1 in the first quarter and the girls carried that momentum throughout the game.”

The Knights spread around the scoring, too. Grace Hobbs finished with 14 points and eight rebounds while Aubree Sperber also had 14 points and three steals. Yuri Montero contributed 10 points and seven rebounds while Jordyn Wurm just missed a double-double with nine points, 13 rebounds and three blocks. Riley Hanson had six points, seven rebounds and three assists.

“We struggled with our layups tonight, but the girls worked hard on the defensive end to make up for it,” Berry said. “We continued to share the ball offensively and it definitely showed that in our stats tonight.”

Clear Lake scoring was not reported.

Kelseyville hosts Willits on Friday in a non-league game.
