FORT BRAGG >> It was quite the week for Middletown High School senior Bodhi Moore and the Mustangs, 78-67 winners over the Fort Bragg Timberwolves in North Central League I varsity boys basketball action Friday night in Fort Bragg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Middletown completed a 3-0 week atop the NCL I standings at 4-0 and 12-4 overall. Moore scored 103 points in those three wins (34.3 average), including 28 against Fort Bragg with four 3-pointers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Mustangs jumped all over Fort Bragg 30-10 in the first quarter and had a 49-25 lead by halftime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe came out fired up and put it on them,\u201d Middletown head coach Jake Diehl said. \u201cThe second half was a complete blood bath. We gave them too much room on the defensive side, and they capitalized on their shots as well.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moore also had six assists and four steals to go along with his 28 points. Anthony Bowerman picked up another double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds, Harrison Brown added 13 points, including three 3-pointers, Jon Hawkins had 12 points and eight rebounds, and Jasiah Pike contributed seven points and 10 rebounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Middletown faces a tough road test Tuesday in St. Helena against the Saints (3-1, 13-2), the final game of a four-game set between the two schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kelseyville 84, Upper Lake 44<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Upper Lake, the Upper Lake Cougars were able to match Kelseyville point for point during a 17-17 first quarter, but the rest of the game belonged to the Knights, who pulled away for an easy victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kelseyville (3-1, 8-8) used a 23-11 second quarter and 26-7 third quarter to put the game out of reach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI felt we were flat in the first half, low energy, but somehow we shot the heck out of the ball,\u201d Kelseyville head coach Oscar Lopez said a big night by the Kelseyville offense, which connected on a dozen 3-pointers. \u201cIt was a good, well-balanced attack.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kyle Watkins led the way with 20 points, Brock Barrick added 14, Sam Arredondo finished with eight while Tyler Bryant, Gene Holdenried and Ryder Leary had seven points apiece. Max Hommer and Sebastian Chavez chipped in six each.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ten different Knights scored points, and the 12 3-pointers were spread among seven players.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

James Beaux Stiritz led Upper Lake with 11 points and Jerod Rosales had seven. Delaney Allison had six. The Cougars are 1-3 in league play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kelseyville returns home Tuesday to battle archrival Clear Lake (3-1) while Upper Lake hosts Lower Lake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clear Lake 63, Cloverdale 56<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Lakeport, Clear Lake (3-1, 8-7) built a lead in the first half and then held on to beat the Cloverdale Eagles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis was a tale of two halves,\u201d Clear Lake head coach Mark Cory said. \u201cWe played a good first half of basketball. The second half our defense was not good enough and Cloverdale knocked down several open looks from 3(-point range) to get back in the game.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zane McAuley\u2019s 17 points led the way for Clear Lake, which had four players score in double figures. The others were AJ Bruch with 15 and Sawyer Smith and Jesse Hayes with 12 apiece.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn the end we did enough to get the win,\u201d Cory said. \u201cAnother win keeps us in the mix. It was a good learning experience for our young group.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

St. Helena 82, Lower Lake 24<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Lower Lake, the St. Helena Saints (3-1, 13-2) snapped a two-game losing streak by routing the Lower Lake Trojans on their home floor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOur team lacked hustle and drive with the exception of a few players,\u201d Lower Lake head coach Anthony Farrington said. \u201cWe were asleep and played with no intensity.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Steven Rich\u2019s eight points were high for Lower Lake (0-4, 2-12). Noah Hakala had five.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFurther contributing to our loss, our team could not find the bucket,\u201d Farrington said. \u201cWe created a number of open shots but just could not finish.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Farrington credited St. Helena with a strong effort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSt. Helena on the other had a great performance and played with intensity and made their shots while creating easy layup opportunities by creating turnovers and getting rebounds,\u201d Farrington said. \u201cThe Saints and their coach are to be commended for their hard play and teamwork.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lower Lake hits the road Tuesday to play Upper Lake.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
