{"id":1702,"date":"2024-12-17T17:25:08","date_gmt":"2024-12-17T17:25:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/briansumptersports.com\/?p=1702"},"modified":"2024-12-17T17:25:08","modified_gmt":"2024-12-17T17:25:08","slug":"broncos-post-wins-over-eagle-peak","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/briansumptersports.com\/?p=1702","title":{"rendered":"Broncos post wins over Eagle Peak"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Middletown Middle School girls squads record non-league home victories<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lake County Sports on Facebook<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MIDDLETOWN &gt;&gt; Battle hardened after going 1-2 in the AAA bracket at the Jaycees Tournament in Crescent City over the weekend, the Middletown Middle School A girls basketball team roughed up Eagle Peak Middle School of Redwood Valley 41-13 in non-league action Monday in Middletown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMy team played outstanding defense tonight,\u201d Middletown head coach Shannon Williams said. \u201cWe came out of the gate on fire and ready to roll.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Leading 10-3, Middletown put the game away with a 15-0 run en route to a 29-11 halftime advantage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAlthough we had to pull out of the press (because of league rules), I challenged my girls in the second half to not allow them to score and they basically succeeded with only one Eagle Peak basket in the entire second half,\u201d Williams said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Emma Davis led the Broncos, who pulled down 43 rebounds, with nine points while Anaya Kilstrom added six points and a team-best nine rebounds. Middletown also racked up 23 steals, six of them by Avery Peterson.
