Deake Lyndall was playing his own game of takeaway Friday evening for the Kelseyville Knights in a 16-6 victory over the Willits Wolverines in North Central League I junior varsity football action at Don Owens Stadium in Lakeport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lyndall picked off three passes and also caused a fumble that the Knights (4-1 league, 5-2 overall) recovered, Ethan Wheeler coming up with the loose ball. His six total tackles led the team while Gordon Astrup and Case Pivniska each had five, and Angel Ruiz four.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kelseyville\u2019s defense had a shutout going until the 3:53 mark of the fourth quarter when the Wolverines finally scored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Brayton Thomas led the Knights with 88 yards on the ground, including a 36-yard touchdown run, and Aiden Smith added a 5-yard TD run. Jayden Fabisch finished with 23 yards on five carries. Kelseyville held a 16-0 halftime lead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kelseyville kicker George Gonzalez accounted for four of the Knights\u2019 points with a 33-yard field goal and an extra point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Quarterback Kimo Brown went 5-for-8 for 70 yards, including a 38-yard pass to Andrew Souza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kelseyville hits the road next week to play Lower Lake (0-5 league, 0-5 overall).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lyndall intercepts three passes, forces fumble in NCL I action against Willits Lake County Sports on Facebook LAKEPORT &gt;&gt; Forget about keep away.
